While a new bond will not be established, this creates the visual effect of a single red feather showing up at random within the rest of her feathered wingspan, and serves as an indicator to the rest of her colony that she has betrayed her initial host and is to be shamed for it. This often ends up ostracizing the siren from the rest of the colony from that point forward, and is considered the most heinous of offenses a siren can commit.
