Eldin Mountain is a dormant volcano that sits on the western edge of the [[Sulfataska Mountains]]. It is through here that one may travel from the grasslands of [[Fa'Diel]] to the mountainous regious.

== History ==

Some time ago, some bridges were built through here. One of the bridges got bought out by a private investor. Mines were built here a while ago, but nobody digs around them anymore, probably because of the miniblins that have moved in.

The peak of Eldin Mountain opens up to the sky, and steam rises from it, forming a ring around the mountain. Rocks tumble down the mountain, possibly originating from here.

This pair of large red rocks are similar in size and shape and probably got their name because they resemble eyes when viewed from above. They are otherwise unremarkable.

== Travel ==

The mountain is rather hollow because of ancient volcanic eruptions and erosion caused by old waterways. A cave entrance connects to the north edge of the [[Lorien Highlands]]. Mountain trails also lead up to the south edge of [[Lasacul]].

== Inhabitants ==

A small population of rock-like creatures that eat rocks dwell around this mountain. They are rather reclusive but tough beings who can be rather enterprising when necessary.

The caverns are infested with hordes of tiny goblins, also known as miniblins. They attack in packs, but individually are rather weak. There are also some bats here. The outside of the mountain is overrun with large poisonous insects called tektites.

== Law, Government and Politics ==

No one really rules this area. Two bridges cross a major gorge in the middle of the mountain, and are owned privately. One of the bridges is funded by the citizens of [[Lasacul]].

==Known History==

Elijah was born to his father, Robert Moran, and a Saiyan mother who died in childbirth. His father, a first generation son of immigrants to America himself, was transported with the rest of his family and the entirety of Seattle. As you might expect, much of them died in the first harsh winter, and the local Saiyans weren't much help. The settlement of Splats would soon die out, leaving a husk of a city and soon enough not even that, but not before many of its people migrated elsewhere in the Cleft, as the Cleft tends to do.

Like many youths born to a Saiyan parent, he was given tutelage in the martial arts. That this came from his grandmother rather than his mother was a mild quibble of tradition. When he had learned the basic forms to his Sensei Yidas's satisfaction, he was allowed to train under other masters. Elijah was ten years old.

After this point, little is known. Elijah makes references to a 'Maestre', a fellow survivor of Seattle, who taught him something called "Capoeira Verdadero". He also claims to have learned boxing from his father posthumously. He also collected a Chain Chomp in his travels, through dubious means, which he has trained to be an attack chomp which he affectionately calls 'Chompy'.

What is known is that at 17, he briefly was hired by [[Milo]] to deliver a missive that may or may not have been crucial. For this service, Elijah and his associate, Vasho, were given the sum of 100 gold pieces.

A few weeks later, hard up for cash, he ended up signing on with [[The Empire]], and has been swiftly showing his colors as a leader, exceptionally so in one so young. He has aided in the capture of several behemoths from the Veldt, and has shown remarkable skill with machetes.

Once this job is done, who knows? If you're desperate, and you have the money, maybe you, too, can hire... The A-Te- I mean, Elijah.

Mandala is a small mountaintop village in the western region of Lofty. It is known primarily for the temple that exists on its grounds and the matangui monks that inhabit the space. Some mountain climbers also choose to rest here.

=== Temple of Prophecy ===

The Temple was erected in honor of two mysterious prophets that brought six orbs to the town that seemed to be able to predict the future. The prophets have fallen off the pages of history, but two statues have been erected in front of the temple in their honor.

The Temple is maintained by a group of Matangui shaman led by the elder shaman [[Byrjun]].

The Palace of Darkness existed in the central region of the Loftarasa Range. When the demons of the palace first escaped, the Palace was "sealed" with the help of Avenant and the Mana Spirits. Some of these demons still live around Loftarasa.

Rumors of a gate to the Palace of Darkness float around, based on the fact that the Mana Spirit Shade now lives there and probably created a means of entering and exiting.

Somewhere in the northern region of the mountain range there is a small shrine dedicated to the spirits of mana. It has been long abandoned.

=== Sage Joch's Peak ===

At the top of one of Loftarasa's many peaks is the home of the ancient [[Sage Joch]]. From here, legend says that Sage Joch could see all the events that transpired in the world. The interior of the peak is a supposedly incredibly expansive space where legendary heroes are said to have been truly tested.

== Travel ==

The Loftarasa Range is in the middle of [[Guardia]]. Various paths around the area connect to places as diverse as the [[Frosty Forest]], [[Wutai]], and [[Cosmo Canyon]].

A large community of matangui have founded the mountaintop village of Mandala. Most of them have dedicated themselves to a simple life sustained by the natural surroundings and regular worship at the Temple of Prophecy which is just outside of town.

=== Demons ===

There are rumors of a demonic presence deep within the belly of the mountain range. This is supported by a surge of flying imp creatures that have begun to prowl around Rolante. They supposedly have originated from the Palace of Darkness.

=== Harpies ===

A small colony of harpies have taken refuge near Rolante. Their leader is known as Tzenker. More info in [[Mt. Rolante]].

=== Wildlife ===

The wildlife consists mostly of various types of birds and large insects. A particular blight in parts of the mountains includes very aggressive owls that attack those who attempt to climb the trails. Wolves also roam around the Nibelheim region.

== Law, Government, and Politics ==

The entire Loftarasa Mountain Range is under Guardia dominion, and Guardia Castle overlooks the eastern section of the mountains and often stations small groups of soldiers around the region as it is the heart of the continent. Soldiers also occasionally are assigned to nearby residential areas in order to establish the continuing existence of Guardia Castle.

Saturn Valley was never addressed by Guardia Castle, due mostly to communication problems.

A diffident and clumsy woman whose prized grandfather clock forced Viorar to rewind and repeat the same day over. She finds resolve through three strangers and seeks out to adventure with them - in search of answers.

Often feeling useless or inferior, Miranda has been fired from over one hundred jobs. It was at her most recent firing that Miranda slunk back to her quaint apartment in the city of Viorar. Unable to bear her constant failures, the ridicule that the children inflict and her inability to improve, the depressed woman cried out to the quiet, endless night and wished tomorrow would never come. It was then, that the grandfather clock she had saved from the junkyard, answered her calls. Time began to rewind and tomorrow never came.

For a week, the town repeated the same day over and over again. It was only Miranda who noticed and was aware of the repetition. Instead of saving her, the lack of tomorrow made things worse and drove Miranda further into depression. Unable to bear the predictability and identical reoccurrences of the children's taunts, her bad luck and accidents she was brought closer to the edge. That is until [[Eudika]] and [[Dhaorahn]] came into the picture.

The pair's interference brought Miranda face to face with a Shinma - one in the guise as a lamia who that drew its power from Miranda's sorrow. Watching two strangers get pummeled for her sake, Miranda felt tortured by looking on and being incapable of helping. It wasn't until the appearance of the third stranger, Lenalee, that the tides began to turn. The Shinma gone, Miranda apologized profusely for her weakness and as the pair of Eudika and Dhaorahn pressed Lenalee for her [[rosier]], [[Night's Messenger]] the event came to a climax for the woman.

Lenalee agreed to give up the rosier, but only if Miranda was to take care of it and travel with Eudika and Dhaorahn. While Eudika protested at first, an agreement was struck and soon enough, Miranda found herself with two traveling companions.

A band of social misfits, travelling performers, and other people exhibiting oddities. Their affiliation allows them to safely travel from place to place without stepping on another performer's 'turf'; this also works as an information network about which crowds are the toughest and which have the fattest coin purses to pocket. Benefits include each others' protection as they often find themselves camping in the wild or fleeing an unhappy audience. They want to provide a welcome refuge for "freaks" and the highly unusual, and perhaps make a few bucks off of it while they're at it. The Gypsy Rose clanhall is perhaps one of the most secure, as it is in a highly windy and defendable place, and is one of the most well-kept secrets in the Cleft. Serving more as a sanctuary and/or hideout for its members, only the members of the clan and its allies may enter. It is under the protection of a Secretkeepers' Charm, meaning that only those who are told of the place by a clan member may find it. All members are currently acting under orders to find and capture all available [[Rosier]]s.

Their leader is [[Coraveda]].
