Orbonne Monastery is a monastery in Fa'Diel full of monks and priests.

History
The Orbonne Monastery sits atop of one of the most ancient, dangerous libraries in existance. Practically rivaling the Etansel library in sheer volumes of knowledge, it is not nearly as famous or popular, as the inhabitants of the monastery have taken many measures to seal it up. The curse of the Zodiac Stones, mostly calmed, still seems to haunt the monastery...

Diana started the Monastery as a temple sanctuary for Jumi.

Over time the monastery took in more devout followers of different races, but was mainly controlled by the Jumi following their strict society codes. When Diana mysteriously died, authority went to her Guardian and husband, the Clarius (Pyrin).

When Goa invaded the southern lands of Fa'Diel, Pyrin chose to close Orbonne off from the world rather than take in those seeking asylum. This unpopular action led to the eventual upheaval of order after Pyrin's untimely death. The non-Jumi took over and opened their doors to those seeking aid, while exiling the Jumi still loyal to Pyrin. Any Jumi that remain in Orbonne to this day are those who chose to follow the new order and break from their traditions.

Sights
Orbonne is home to the (currently) only known living enchanted fruit tree, though it is constantly under siege by monkies searching for bananas. The Priests' Guild is here, offering goods and services to Priests only.

Inhabitants
Rafa and Malak are the leaders, preaching tolerance and peace after the War of the Lions in their own world. Although everyone within is a devout pacifist, their brand of pacifism makes exceptions for aggressors - should you disturb their balance, the monks and priestesses can pummel the best warrior. The serene atmosphere of the place also draws bards and dancers, who form the majority of the church's choir and performers.

Travel
One can reach Orbonne Monastery by sticking north in the Oreyndur Forest northwest of The Veldt. It is a popular stop for weary travelers seeking sanctuary from the wilds.

Law, Government, and Politics
Orbonne Monastery has been declared a strictly neutral religious zone. Anyone of any alignment, religion or affiliation may safely and peacefully worship or take refuge within its walls.

Quests
Managing a monastery in a strange world like the cleft is hard work. Perhaps someone in charge could use a hand with something?

The Great Explorer Luigi Says
"Luigi loves the potions sold in the monastery, Remedies are-a particularly useful to have on hand."

A series of bloodstained notes
things will assist here, sometimes. seems like they keep to their cliques. except monks, they'll butt in on anything. priestesses drop potions they sell in the store, worth coming back around for. going deeper has [smeared blood renders this unreadable].

Frosty Forest is a frozen forest in northern Guardia. The forest is vibrant and full of wolves and other wildlife.

Sights
Feel the chill of Northern Guardia on your skin in this magnificent winter wonderland. Watch the local wildlife propagate and devour tourists while howling to the moon to sing their praises of victory to the towering pillars of ice and snow!

Todo
The town of Todo has several shops, all staffed by walruses. Indeed, the only permanent inhabitants are walruses, who don't mind the constant cold weather.

Santa's House
Not a believer in Santa? Perhaps a visit is in order! He lives peacefully in the forest with his loyal reindeer and guardian face eating plant.

Travel
The road leading into Frosty Forest can be reached from the northern peak of the Loftarasa Mountains. There's also a crazed man running a giant cannon just outside of Todo, but he will only offer his services to highly experienced adventurers.

The Madra Ice Field lies to the north beyond the village while Phendrana Drifts rests off the northwest side of the forest.

Inhabitants
Howlers and Pebblers dominate most of the forest while steering clear of the more powerful Turtlances and La Funks. Some eccentric anthropomorphic cat has set up shop somewhere, too.

Law, Government, and Politics
Frosty Forest falls under Guardia rule, but is likely governed with more scrutiny by the local walrus population in Todo. The mayor there is very efficient.

Quests
Fierce adventurers who have avoided taking arrows to their knees have trudged through the harsh snow and lived to tell the tales of their exploits. Their words of guidance are as follows:

- Have you helped out a jolly red reptile?

- Did you bring the holiday spirit to someone?

- Have you looted little koopa treasures?

The Great Explorer Luigi Says
"Luigi carries-a couple-a bottles of Remedies from Orbonne Monastery for when he feels-a bit slowed down and weak. He shoots-a fireballs when he can't jump on-a monster with materia from Cosmo Canyon!

A series of bloodstained notes
yeah, good here. wolves go down. pebblers go down, think they can screw with mana though. big face on the west end aggros. funks can go intangible, magic them. turtlances can do a lot of damage.

Mt. Rolante is a mountain in the Loftarasa Range. Riese is the princess and ruler here. There are no buildings or castles left in Rolante - Sorceress Vulpecula ran the kingdom to ruin. However, the descendants of the rightful ruler have continued their way of life here, completely attuned to nature and the mountain's terrain.

History
??? - Rolante becomes part of the Cleft, and their Kingdom flourishes in the Loftarasa Mountains.

??? - Sorceress Vulpecula's actions lead to the downfall of the Rolante Kingdom. She rules here until __, when invasion of Brigantes lead to her demise.

303 - Witnessing events south in Truce at this time, and fearing for his region's safety now that he is not protected by Rolante, Sylphid preemptively seeks refuge for the Mana Stone of Wind, eventually coming to agreement with the Reploids to protect it by housing it in their space fortress. Conveniently, they also decided to harness it for energy.

Sights
Rolante Castle
The ruins of the Rolante Castle still remain, but it is covered in debris and very little of it is accessible.

The Peak
Rolante has the highest peak of any mountain in the Loftarasa range. Due to this, it is incredibly windy on most parts of the mountain. The amazons who live there have channeled the wind into various defensive mechanics, like the Corridor of Wind. The Corridor is a series of tunnels dug into the mountainside, with strategic holes to the outside, allowing wind to funnel into the holes and come blasting out into the Corridor.

Someone has set up hot air balloon rides from the peak. Fun!

Travel
One must walk through the Loftarasa Mts to reach Rolante.

Inhabitants
The last remaining descendants of Rolante still dwell here, reminiscing about the past and rarely interacting with the rest of the world.

Law, Government & Politics
While at one point it was ruled by the Rolante Kingdom, that kingdom is no more. Currently Guardia is considered to oversee the land, though like may remote areas, they don't spend much time doing so.

Quests
A chibi-devil once pestered an Amazon relentlessly spouting all kinds of nonsense, eventually asking her these questions before being impaled by a spear:

- Have you defeated a godbeast?

- Or dealt with Riese's harpy problem?

The Great Explorer Luigi Says
"Watch the Harpies for Wind elemental attacks. Amazon archers can shoot-a really far, and chibi-devils get mischievous when ignored for too long. Being able to fly will be helpful and there's-a number of ways to do it, such as drinking-a bottled cloud, holding-a feather, or riding-a broomstick!"

A series of bloodstained notes
archers will run, keep on 'em. cockatrices are the real choice target here. little bastard devils will backstab, sense hidden might help. harpies assist, their queen aggros.
Bean Valley is in Fa'Diel, west of the Lorien Highlands.

There is some pretty fertile soil there.

Sights
The Magitek Factory was once buried beneath Rocket Town. From as early on as anyone can remember, the place was abandoned and left to what adventurers there were that would plume its broken depths for treasure or long forgotten gadgets.

However, armored soldiers have recently taken over the ruin and barred anyone from entering the old factory. They even went so far as to collapse the tunnels from Rocket Town that gave access to the place.

What these soldiers are after, or what they may intend is anyone's guess. And unless some other route into the factory is known, no one may figure it out until its too late.

A series of bloodstained notes
what you do see are easy marks. what you don't see are the guards that'll swoop in to tag team you. rough place to work. if the alarm starts going off, run. you won't get past the crush of bodies they pile on.

Running in a northwest-to-southeast direction, Truce Canyon sits just north of the city of Truce. It was formed over time due to the erosive action of the Lete River.

Sights
A main feature of the canyon is the large natural bridge that spans across it. Several meters thick, it is sturdy enough to support large volumes of traffic. It connects the west bank to the east bank.

Inhabitants
The landscape is populated by a startling number of brightly colored Imps and their trained Rolys. The Imps of Truce Canyon are lead by the infamous Imp King. Novice adventurers should keep their guard up. A few goombas occupy the mesa area.

Travel
Truce Canyon lies straight north of Truce and is the perfect place for beginning adventurers to test their mettle. A valley to the northwest runs down towards Cosmo Canyon and Guardia Castle. The Lete River road begins on the west bank of the canyon, connecting Truce Canyon to the city of Wutai.

Law, Politics, and Government
It should come as no surprise that Truce Canyon, sitting right between Truce and Guardia Castle, is part of Guardia territory...as much as the Imp King would like to object.

Quests
An adventurer passing through the canyon once came across someone's abandoned note on the ground. He read it silently to himself:
"Crono! Oh my god, Biff stole the Gate Key and is unwittingly destroying the space-time continuum! We're with the doctor in the Tardis now, but if your timeline somehow gets this message, you need to do these things to set everything straight again!

- Beat the Imp King!

- Get the pants pattern!

- Master imp diplomacy!

- Find the roly riding crop!

You're our only hope now! Don't let us down! - Lucca"

Guardia Castle is the seat of government for the kingdom of Guardia. Its physical location is on the edge of the Rabite Forest.

History
The first bricks of Guardia Castle were laid around the year 250. It has been renovated and improved a few times since then, EG for the installation of electrical power from Rocket Town to the south.

During the construction of the castle, the elderly Queen disappeared and was presumed dead. Since then, the structure of government has been modified to give more power to the cabinet members and chancellor, making finding a successor unimportant since they wouldn't have much actual clout anyway.

Sights
Guardia Castle has employed the most famous pastry chef in the region, Chef Torte. His wares are sold to the public in the castle cafeteria. The Guardia throne, while totally empty, is still in the throne room and just as opulent as ever. Bounty Hunters frequent the castle in search for their next mark. It has THE BEST lawn in the entire cleft.

Travel
One can reach Guardia Castle by heading northwest at the fork that connects it to Rabite Forest, Cosmo Canyon, and Truce Canyon.

Inhabitants
Guards and government personnel make up the majority of the castle. Princesses from other lands seem to gather here as well for safety while a wise summoner performs research below.

Law, Politics, and Government
:See main article at Guardia#Central Government

While Guardia claims to be a Kingdom, and there is even an actual throne, there has never been an actual monarch since Guardia Castle was built. All the actual work of governing is performed by a group of ministers who are appointed by the Knights of the Square Table, who are elected by popular vote.

Quests
Once upon a time, a guard patrolled an inmate who was to be executed in three days. The guard listened to his tales, the last words he would speak before the end:

- I battled a dragon!

- and I retrieved a lost key!

- I fetched an anvil!

- I beat up a pastry!

- On top of that, I claimed a bounty!

The Great Explorer Luigi Says
"Luigi was-a very impressed with the castle guard when he saw-a rough adventurer get subdued. They called out for-each other to help take him down. After kicking him out, he tried-to return but was immediately taken down again! Luigi felt-a very calm knowing the guards would keep him safe. Anyone willing to commit-a senseless murder in the capital of Guardia is playing-a very dangerous game with-a no continues!"

A series of bloodstained notes
green guy is right, here. assist range in earshot. they carry healing if you kill them quick enough. gear isn't good for a caster though. the princesses are good marks too, just expect 'em to scream.
Brigantes is an underground castle. It has been made into a habitable city by pumpkinheads and others who prefer the dark solitude of the earth. It used to be in the place where the Madra Ice Field is, but was sunk underground by Arctic.
A Pokemon Gym can be found here for those on a quest to become the best there ever was.

Travel
Brigantes is hidden from the public, but rumors say that witches can grant visitors access into the city. It is underneath Madra Ice Field, due to Arctic's actions.

Inhabitants
Pumpkinheads and witches inhabit most of the city, but the dark atmosphere of the castle has attracted a variety of other creatures drawn to such things.

Law, Government, and Politics
In Brigantes, there are very strict laws governing the lives of Witches. Once a witch finishes her magic training, she immediately leaves the city. These witches are to travel the world, gaining knowledge and power, and return to Brigantes to have their children (or have them there before they leave), then leave again. Witches return to the city only when their grandchildren are born, to raise them. The Grandmother raises the children because a young mother is not considered a wise enough witch to teach a new one. Witches who do not or cannot have children often become War Witches, and otherwise are regarded with something like pity; it is not shameful, but many childless witches do not return to Brigantes until they are of advanced age (so as to raise someone else's child if needed). This is still considered quite a pity, as magical talent is passed directly through the bloodline.

If a Witch has a male baby, he is considered to be a favorite plaything of Deneb. Unfortunately, once male children reach a certain age, Deneb transforms them into Pumpkinheads. Sometimes babies are smuggled out in their infancy, but Pumpkinheads do not often reproduce sexually (although it is possible) so this cycle is necessary to produce them steadily.

Quests
A city of darkness is sure to hide a plethora of secrets. Knowledgeable adventurers who have come and gone would ask such questions:

- Have you even discovered the city?

- Considered busting some ghosts?

- Helped control the pet population?

- Demonstrated the skill to conquer the Hallowrena?

- Became an alcoholic?

- Broken an amphibious curse?

The Great Explorer Luigi Says
"Sometimes-a Luigi gets confused with seedy pumpkinhead thugs! Thankfully, pumpkinheads-a don't like fireballs and poison. The War Witches are-a bit more dangerous with their magical spells, mamma miaa!"

A series of bloodstained notes
Good luck getting in. Kinda dangerous inside if you go picking fights. Stick to the seedy lookin' ones and work your way up gently. Not bad though. Good for gold.
