Until, of course, Vice screwed it up again. First he framed Aura for a massacre in [[Cosmo Canyon]], and nearly succeeded in breaking Seikou until Variance disproved Aura's involvement. Then he actually went on a massacre in [[Rocket Town]], and admitted this one to the Hunters. Seikou, witnessing the crime scene, finally gave up on protecting anyone - and deleted the Antivirus.

The infected Seikou posed as the real one for some time, even informing Variance in hysterical tones of a murder he had caused. However, he slipped up a few too many times and was imprisoned, with no seeming hope of recovery. Aura was eventually the one to help him as she left to find herself, providing him with a means of suppressing the Virus.

In the end, things seemed to end badly for Seikou. Aura left him against her will, trapped in the Mana Holyland with no apparent way out. Variance sacrificed himself in combat against a threat to the entire Cleft. Seikou was left alone with only one thing keeping him tied to life - Aura had left a child in his care, a child born somehow from a dream version of him. At first, Seikou resented the boy (who was named [[Ambience]]), disliking the enforced connection to life when he could have been joining Variance. Indeed, for a good year, Seikou seemed content to let himself rust and die, caring for the child but barely caring about himself. One of his arms just stopped working during this due to his total lack of regard for basic maintenance.

In the end, though, he realized he loved his on and decided to live on to see the boy grow. He took on a more nurturing and loving role and began to take proper care of himself (although the arm was sort of a lost cause). He has lived with the boy deep in the woods for years, mostly as a hermit, but he's gained a sort of contentment and peace that he never had before.

This, of course, probably means that it's all doomed.
