Its plans ran afoul of a wizard that worked magic against it, and, in seeking a new dimension to escape to until things cooled down, Yawgmoth found himself inhabiting a recently repaired, brain-dead reploid in the Kapcom dimension only minutes before it was pulled into the Cleft of Dimensions. The double-transitions, coupled with the state of the reploid it possessed, left Yawgmoth with no memory, and no way to access its full powers.
