Alexia was a handmaiden of the Princess Zelda in Hyrule. When a rift in space/time opened, Alexia would request to be allow to investigate what might lie on the other side. Zelda allowed it, but gave her the Ocarina of Time in hope that it could bring her back if there was a problem.
Alexia would pass through the rift safely, and found herself in the Cleft. She and the Ocarina would disappear.
