The Town of Truce
December 15 the year 320
Mana Holy Day
I've decided to keep a journal of events, so that I may look back on them should I need to do so.
I decided to stop in the local pub for a few drinks, needing to clear my mind after being roughed up by the creatures in the river. There I met with a young man named called Toma, and a peculiar man calling himself Ford Prefect.
I spoke with Toma for a while and learned much about the town of Truce, but at the cost of a few drinks for himself. It seems the old man who sold weaponry and armor had suddenly disappeared from the town; nobody knows where he went. Luckily the local trainer and an unknown fellow took up the old man's place, who I later learned was named Melchior, and the trainer named Magnus. Maybe I can spark up a conversation with the trainer now that I know his name.
There are a number of shops in Truce, of which the most useful I found being one owned by a Fritz. There I bought a backpack and a flashlight; the forest is almost impossible to navigate at night, even with my enhanced perception. One shop appeared to sell glowing orbs, but they were too much for my wallet and I didn't know what they were for anyway.
Another thing I found was a boathouse which sold tickets to various islands throughout the world, though I don't plan on going to them for quite some time. One of them is said to be inhabited by a dark mage that keeps to himself and never leaves the castle there. All the better, for they say he's a nasty fellow.
Many of the residents of Truce have problems of their own, but until I know more of this world, I'm afraid I cannot do anything to help them. Fighting the creatures in the Lete River in the canyon north of Truce has bolstered my confidence, and I should be able to explore more of this world without too much apprehension. I did go west of town once and found a black-clad little thing trying his best to capture a few beetles. I hope he gets a few.
