Memories, Part 2
Hidden Maverick Base
June 1 of the year 322
Gnome's Day
Turning the box over in his hands, Jedo finds a small button
that's flush with the rest of the frame. With nothing better to
do while waiting for his partner, he pushes it. The energy
panes disappear instantly, and Jedo is overwhelmed with the
energy release and blacks out.

"Jedo? Jedo! Get up, now!"
Jedo opens his eyes a little and sees his partner Drakon
standing over him. He shakes his head a little and turns on
his side to get a better look at his surroundings. The rubble
and debris still surround him. Good, still at the lab.
"Drak, help me up... I got blasted with something, I'm
drained."
Drakon extends a hand to Jedo and pulls him up to his feet. He
turns to look around some, but Jedo holds his grip on Drak's
hand. Drakon turns and looks at Jedo who stands their grinning.
"Drak... Listen very carefully, I've been given a gift, and
the ability to give this gift... You can be given an energy
boost to every ounce of your being."
"Wha? What are you talking about, Jedo?"
Jedo tightens his grip and sends an electric signal of his vital
stats, off the chart! Drakon blinks and looks amazed.
"How did you...? What is this?"
"I told you, I have been given the gift of gifts. Know now that
the price for being a part of this will mean your utter devotion
to me... and do not doubt that you will follow me should you
accept. Now, tell me. Do you want this?"
Drakon stands dumbfounded, there is definitely a change to Jedo.
Something about his is different... wrong... Drakon backs
away and tears his hand from the grip. Shaking his head, he
continues to back off, step by step.
"No... You're not... right. What's wrong with you?"
"Absolutely nothing, now tell me! Will you follow me?!"
Drakon looks at Jedo in the eyes and a flash of something like
godliness enters them. Also a strong sense of wrongness.
"...No..."
Drakon barely has enough time to draw his sword and block a
downward slash from Jedo, but is left defenseless against the
fist that is thrown at his face. Drakon goes flying headfirst
into a pile of rubble. Several moments pass before he
re-emerges, head hung low.
"I can't fight you. We have been partners... friends for too
long... I will not fight you."
"Then, will you join me?"
Drakon's shoulders sag as he nods slowly... silently. Jedo
grins and takes his friend's hand.
"You will not regret this."
Sparking, crackling energy runs from Jedo's shoulder down his
arm, and through into Drakon's body. He grins as his friend
passes out and collapses.
"Drak. Wake up... we need to rebuild."
>Insert corny fade-into-present blur here<
Jedo grins as he finishes cleaning up the room he has taken as his personal quarters.
