Melee Island is a medium-sized island located in the south Shadmire archipelago.

The island is wrapped in eternal darkness, supposedly because of an ancient pirate curse. Make sure to bring a light!

Sights

Though tourism has recently suffered due to the presence of the fearful Ghost Pirate LeChuck, the island does offer many modern conveniences, including a laundromat, a lively tavern, and general store in Melee Town. Deeper in the island, the labyrinthine forest conceals a pet shelter, circus, and the abode of the powerful Voodoo Lady. The Governor also regularly hosts parties at her mansion close by Melee Town.

Inhabitants

By far the majority of the living population of Melee Town are pirates. Pirates also make up the *un*living population, as ghost pirates are said to linger in the caverns hidden underneath the island. More recently a group of young adults from the Beast Kingdom have also taken up residence on the island.

Travel

Ferries connect Melee Island to Scuttle Town to the west, and Viorar far to the east. The local ferries departing from Melee Island are run by Kate Capsize, and the glass-bottom boats are popular with tourists who want a glimpse of undersea life.

Quests

Drunken pirates brag of incredible and improbable exploits, such as:

- mastering the art of the sword

- mastering the art of thievery

- mastering the art of the quest

- pacifying a bridge guardian

- proving your pet-raising credentials

- disrupting a circus

- finding some buried treasure

- bringing peace to the island
