Kaze was a faerie (moogle form) from a magical land. He loved exploring and getting his nose into things until he stumbled onto a book. He especially loved stories from far off lands, so he hopped right in. This turned out to be less of a good idea than normal, is it was a magical book, you see: a grimoire of spells designed to banish things to the Cleft of Dimension.

Since then, he's been waking up to find himself in a number of different forms, somewhat chaotically. Any time he makes enough progress towards an exit from this nightmare realm, he find himself reverted to a weaker form back at his entry into the realm.

He's been shifting between races at an alarming rate. Even when he appears to be a moogle, though, he can't use his full mental abilities, and the fairfolk don't even recognize him as one of their own. The process has converted him from a cheery, if mischievous, figure to something far less typically fey and more somber. (He fears this means that he's literally ceased to be one of the fae.) He's very solicitous to those who are just learning about the trap, and attempts to help them navigate the strangeness of the Cleft of Dimensions.

He's trying to find out everything that he can about Kolem, as he's stopped seeing him, and thinks that the sage may have found a means of escape from the Cleft.

STATS

Level varies. See Temporal Lunacy. He's literally run through the timeline dozens of times, by now. By the most current RP timeframe, he's generally developed to something in the 90-100 level range... and then resets. If he ever breaks through the barrier, he'll expects to do so by transcending mortal limitations.

(It all varies wildly, as he reverts in the timeline.)

Abilities:

Faerie magic (This is tightly curtailed in the Cleft.)
Dreamwalker - Kaze used to be free to navigate stories and dreams. He could edit dreams, freely, and stories with great effort. Since arriving in the Cleft, he's not been able to use any aspect this except in the very limited forms listed below.
Dimensional Warping - He was able to create connections between places and between mystical places and certain special things. There needed to be some sort of story attaching them. He was always able to use this to escape on a whim until he was trapped in the Cleft.
Dream warping - He could edit dream realities pretty liberally, but has found Magicant surprisingly resistant.

Cleft magic
Temporal Lunacy - Kaze is stuck in time. He runs through a loop, starting with his initial entry into the Cleft and usually ending sometimes after he approaches the Mana Holyland (never once actually seeing it, but getting tantalizingly close) or finding the secret powers on the moon. Other points have triggered it when he's tried to stay away from either. When it hits, he finds himself living as other races and developing other arts.
Slowly but surely, he is developing universal skills: skills that he can intuitive adapt to the body he inhabits.
Others with the Temporal Lunacy trait can recall their looped past and the events therein, including others with this trait. As such, while they appear batty to others, they do know each other. He's made a rare few friends who are also looping. (He really wishes Wolfdog was one of them.)
Many with this trait, including Kaze, can identify others trapped in the loop, even on the first meeting.
Dimensional warping - Kaze wandered the Cleft and has began to work out how to apply his knowledge of dimensional magic to the Cleft. It's still quite limited, but he's improving. This costs considerable time, money, and magical power to perform the first time, but once he's created it, he can reform it easily, even after a rewind. He's still working on that.
Charm - In most incarnations, especially the more charming forms, he has managed to develop the ability to charm a target.
Fira, Din's Fire, Halo, Thundara, Summon, and a handful of others are on his list of universal spells.

Auto Skills:

Depends on race... he does tend towards being an esper, kokiri, moogle, or nu. He has noticed that he has keenly developed senses, especially for magic and the mystical, for the race he is in, even as he seems generally limited by their capacities.

His tell is a combination of dark grey and emerald green, generally green eyes and dark grey hair. Often, these are accompanies with hints of being a moogle. His reploid forms have been emerald green with grey highlights or the reverse. Most have been pretty clearly biomechanical moogles. His esper form generally looks like his original form, complete with the ability to flutter about on impossibly tiny wings. He's found himself a green animated humanoid fire, at least once.

Esper:

  • Whispering winds - His form levitates and his physical objects animate to suit his efforts. He seems to be limited to the equipment he could use as a moogle. The power of magic tends to flow into him. It's much easier to adapt magic to command in esper forms, but the control over the Cleft, itself, remains as elusive as ever. Mostly, this means that he can develop and learn magical spells a bit more easily and recover his mystical stores rapidly.

Kokiri:

  • Fae Intuition - Much of his unusual perception seems to manifest as a distinct faerie. He also has keen mystical senses in these lives.

Moogle:

  • Moogle Radar - Provides excellent awareness of immediate surroundings.
  • Moogle Vision - Provides terrible eyesight due to squinty eyes. Largely mitigated by his mystical and mental senses in his pompom.

Nu:

  • Mystical Awareness - Nui have a natural tendency to pay attention to things with a timeless perspective. Kaze wonders if this is related to his tendency to appear as one, given his situation, but this allows him to see many things others would overlook and magical abilities, as well.
  • Sleepytime - A torpid state uses far less food, water, and oxygen.
  • Long view - Having their calm and long view provides a certain measure of resilience against alarm and panic. It also comes with an exta durability when faced with mental attacks.
