Pears was a reploid made in some other place and time, designed to be a sort of replacement for the engineer's late son. Though he was programmed with all of the son's memories, the engineer was nowhere to be found when Pears came on-line. In his search for clues to his origins and purpose, Pears found himself drawn into the Cleft, where he fell in with Saneron and his guild.
In 325, after Saneron had been exposed as a Maverick and subsequently killed by the Maverick Hunters, Pears was taken into custody to determine if he had contracted the Maverick Virus.
The whereabouts and ultimate fate of Pears is currently unknown.
