Terror of the Mavericks

Year 180

• A group of reploids, calling themselves Mavericks are gathered by one named Sigma.
  • Though most of the details about their exploits are lost, what is known is that they targeted non-reploid settlements to raid, pillage, and put to the torch.

Year 290

• After over a hundred years of terrorizing the people of the Cleft, the Maverick leader, Sigma, is destroyed during a raid on Rocket Town.
• That same year, the reploid Jedo would find the remains of the Maverick Virus in an abandoned building and would be infected.
  • Jedo would assume leadership of the Mavericks, forcing all others to serve him.

Year 320

• Jedo and his Mavericks continue oppressing, terrorizing, and slaying the non-reploids of the Cleft for another thirty years.
  • Reploids they managed to capture were either infected with the virus, or slaughtered for rejecting Jedo's gift.
• The reploid Rockman X rises up and determines that he would do everything he could to stop the Mavericks.
• The Maverick Hunters form, but under the leadership of the reploid Signas, since Rockman wanted to remain unfettered with administrative duties while hunting the Mavericks.
