Kalin Ketra
Pre-Cleft
Kalin lived in a post-apocalyptic world frozen in time and ruled by Primal Dialga with his best friend, Caleb Ketra, a human. His daily life involved hunting and gathering for his village, a settlement underground and hidden away from Dialga's eyes. Kalin and Caleb were a regular thorn in the side of Dusknoir, Dialga's top agent. While this was due in part to their combat skills, one particular thing about Caleb made this possible. Caleb was born with something he came to call the 'dimensional scream', a power that enabled him to see into the past or future of an area.

One day, they rescued Celebi from a squad of Sableeye while hunting in Dusk Forest. Celebi possessed uncanny powers, such as control over time and the ability to freely speak between humans and pokemon. For a time, she simply lived in peace with Kalin and Caleb as an extra pair of hands to help out. But as Kalin and Caleb expressed the passionate desire to dethrone Dialga and restore life to the world, Celebi came to believe in her rescuers and explained a way that such a thing could be done. They would go to Clockwork Forest and travel to the past, using the dimensional scream to locate the world's "time gears". The source of the world's paralysis could be traced to the collapse of Temporal Tower, Dialga's domain. Taking the time gears there would keep it from collapsing, and thus, prevent a future where time itself froze..which in turn, would erase Kalin and Caleb from ever existing.

Determined to go through with the plan knowing the consequences, Kalin, Caleb, and Celebi went to Clockwork Forest to begin their plan. But once there, they were ambushed by Primal Dialga, Dusknoir, and many Sableeye. Celebi still managed to open the gate and stayed behind to help Caleb and Kalin get through. But during the journey through the pathways of time, the two friends became separated. Caleb went missing and Kalin instead fell into the cleft, landing in Rabite Forest. At that point, Kalin lost his memory on everything he ever knew. Were it not for Jameson, a former Team Rocket specialist from a similar world, Kalin would likely have perished to the cleft's dangers.

The Mana Spirits
Struggling with a strange mental condition, Kalin found himself reliant on Jameson as a trainer. On one fated day, a moogle dancer named Mogwai invited Jameson and Kalin to go on a quest with her to meet the legendary spirits of mana. It was then that he met others such as Twilight, Finn, Nagol, Riko, Vinyl, and Qupoma. And around Truce, he met the mimiga Mula and took in the pichu Julexa as a little sister. Throughout their quest together, Kalin began to find deep rooted feelings for Mogwai inside his heart, and he stuck with her for the entirety of her journey. This led to him leaving Jameson's care, who up and disappeared one day without a trace.

100 Pieces of the Past
Some time after visiting the spirits of mana, Kalin offered to take his friends Finn and Riko to meet Salamando for his blessing. The fiery spirit put them through trials that nearly involved their deaths. In the end, the three learned the basic principle of the world: All beings are made of mana and are destined to someday return their mana to the world. In addition to giving Riko and Finn his blessing, Salamando set Kalin on the path to the Beast Kingdom to meet someone who could 'repair his mind'. Deciding to go alone, Kalin traveled to Fa'Diel in search for answers. While up in the Murkyr Mountains, Kalin found a hollowed out cave to rest in. Upon awakening, he was treated by Jameson, who just happened to be living in said cave. He gave Kalin a choice: To return to him and live a simpler life of following orders without the concerns of love and mental trauma..or to walk his own path and create a path in life for himself. After some thought, Kalin chose to bear the painful burdens of thought and emotion. And so Jameson crushed his pokeball and gave Kalin a shard of it to keep.

When he arrived in the Beast Kingdom, Kalin met a pokemon named Hypno. Initially, Hypno refused to help the Eevee, but after dropping "The Great Salamando"'s name, the psychic pokemon agreed to repair the 'broken shards' of Kalin's mind. During this process, most of his memory was restored: He remembered Caleb, the world he grew up in, and the need to return to it. But after being repaired, Hypno warned him that pieces of his mind were missing. That someone..or something shattered his mind and that he is still missing pieces. There was also something contradictory to the truth: Kalin believed that he was the one with the dimensional scream.

For a time, Kalin returned to Mogwai's side and alternated living with her and in his cave in Rabite Forest with Julexa. He didn't want to leave his life behind, but he had to pick up where Caleb left off. Mogwai's situation on being unable to return to her world may have been unique..but what about his? Surely the mana spirits were capable of it? As time passed, a series of events filled the Eevee's heart with anxiety and depression.

Kalin's concerns boiled up and exploded as he was manipulated into nearly killing Julexa one day, causing him to storm off towards Barrel Volcano to beg Salamando for passage back home. On the way, he was intercepted by Aura of the Mana Tribe. Thanks to her Dryad spirits, she determined that Kalin was the 'disturbed soul' that she was sent to retrieve. After explaining his reasons for wanting to return to his home world, a voice no doubt belonging to the tree of mana itself awarded him with a cyan colored flower that opened a gateway back to his dimension. He had to say goodbye; he'd betrayed everyone he cared about. And so he returned to the duty he and Caleb first set out to do.

All That Was
Kalin's homecoming wasn't a heartfelt experience; the world was just as harsh and lifeless as he had left it. He started by heading back to his village, but found the place empty and in ruins. The Sableeye had found them while he was gone. He then tried to find Celebi in Clockwork Forest, but was beat up and captured by Dusknoir because his mana blessings would not work outside of the cleft. Dusknoir tortured him physically and mentally for days for Caleb's location, as well as that of one 'Adamant Orb'. Eventually, Dusknoir noticed the ribbon Mogwai gave him along with the pokeball shard from Jameson. Taking that to be a clue of the 'old world', Dusknor began to set up Kalin's execution for all of their slaves to see. As Kalin hung by his neck and slowly suffocated, he was rescued by a mysterious dark pokemon. Coming to in a dark cave, that pokemon, Darkrai, told Kalin many things: that Dialga was no longer in their world, that he would have been his enemy, and that he could take Caleb's place in going through with the plan to rewrite history.

Deciding to trust him, Darkrai and Kalin went to Ice Mountain to retrieve Celebi, who was frozen in time. To unfreeze her, Darkrai used one of Dialga's artifacts: The Adamant Orb. Once together in safety, Darkrai laid down the plan: As a historian, he knew where to find the five time gears they would need. And so the three pokemon set out for Clockwork Forest, where Dusknoir and his Sableeye awaited in ambush. As if repeating history in a different manner, Darkrai stayed behind for a time while Celebi and Kalin traveled to the past. One thing continued to bother Kalin after they rescued Celebi: he was still unable to channel the dimensional scream.

Temporal Destiny
After Darkrai caught up, he set off for Limestone Cavern alone and directed Kalin and Celebi first to Treasure town then to Treeshroud forest to acquire the first two time gears. While in Treeshroud Forest, Celebi confessed her feelings for Kalin..but the Eevee had already given his heart to someone else. After a bit of fallout, they discovered something was wrong with Kalin's memory: He never had the dimensional scream, yet he had memories of using it. After promising to help him through his trauma, Celebi and Kalin obtained the time gear and reunited with Darkrai in Treasure Town.

The next three gears were not as simple to retrieve; each were protected by powerful guardians. They began with a long journey to Fogbound Lake, where they disrupted a guild of exploring pokemon. They left the innocent explorers to be frozen in time after defeating Uxie and taking his gear. The next guardian, found in Underground Lake, was defeated through means of deception and betrayal. Kalin fooled Mesprit with some degree of Charm that he learned from Mogwai, leading her on while she helped him find his friends. In the end, Kalin distracted her while Darkrai took her out and secured the gear.

The final gear was guarded by Azelf in Crystal Lake. Further utilizing the aspects of trickery and deception that he picked up from Darkrai, Kalin and Celebi defeated the guardian while Darkrai acquired the final gear. After tending to their last bit of business in Treasure Town, the three pokemon journeyed through Brine Cave where Darkrai convinced the guardian of the Hidden Land, Lapras, to take them there to save Temporal Tower. When they arrived, Darkrai asked Celebi to stay behind at the time gate resting outside the tower as a last resort should they be defeated by Dialga. After being left alone, the gate activated behind Celebi as a certain pokemon emerged from it. Once inside the tower, Darkrai and Kalin were attacked by Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit in a room of everlasting darkness. Kalin ran on ahead, prompting Mesprit to chase after him while Darkrai received planned help from Dusknoir. No match for the two dark pokemon, Uxie and Azelf were brutally slaughtered.

Kalin defeated Mesprit after she chased him down, but he spared her and left her to think about why he was doing what he went there to do. Unfortunately for her, Darkrai and Dusknoir were not far behind the Eevee..and Mesprit shared a similar fate to her brothers. When he reached the spire, Kalin stood before Dialga himself..an obstacle that would not let him approach the slab for the time gears. Halfway through the battle, Darkrai caught up and helped him fight. For three instances, Kalin endured Dialga's Roar of Time, a temporal fluctuation that sent the Eevee's mind back to pivotal moments in time in the past where he was too powerless before. With long forgotten strength returning to him, Kalin actually managed to stun the powerful Lord of Time.

With Dialga defeated, Darkrai placed the time gears on the slab and waited. Kalin found peace in what he believed to be his final moments of existance, confessing his regrets to the uncaring Darkrai. But after some time, Darkrai removed the gears, prompting a double take from the bewildered Eevee. Darkrai's true intentions were revealed while Dusknoir emerged from his hiding place to rub it in: His intention was to use Temporal Tower to 'restore' the time gears. The gears were once a part of Dialga's armor during an era where the Lord of Time had the power of a god. Darkrai's intention was solely that: to restore Dialga to his immortal state..something Dusknoir eagerly awaited to see. But Darkrai's plans went deeper than that, he then betrayed Dusknoir and explained that a true god needed a world more fitting to rule: the cleft of dimensions. Darkrai had his eyes on the Sword of Mana ever since he stowed away in Kalin's shadow. And to deceive his way into the Mana Holyland once more, he absorbed Kalin into himself..just like he did with Caleb the moment he first fell into the cleft. To accomplish that, Darkrai sowed seeds of darkness in Kalin's heart over a long period of time by manipulating the Eevee's choices. Giving up the dimensional scream that he had been utilizing the entire time for Kalin's blessings of mana, Darkrai left the collapsing tower and tricked Celebi into opening the gate back for him. But rather than returning to the future, Darkrai returned to the cleft, betraying Celebi and leaving her to die on his way out.

But hope would not be lost, for Caleb still lived under a pile of rubble that resulted when Darkrai traded him out for Kalin. Miraculously, Caleb escaped the collapsing tower in time to find Celebi struggling with the final seconds of her life. She used the last of her strength to open the gate for Caleb one last time, who returned to the cleft to stop Darkrai and save Kalin.

Shadows of Time
Fortune smiled on Caleb as the first few faces he saw in Truce were Mogwai and Gizmo. Together, they ventured to the Murkyr Mountains to get Jameson's help to not only save Kalin, but to teach Caleb how to be a trainer from his world. It took some convincing, but Jameson agreed to help on the basis that they help him remove his blessings of mana, which were more along the lines of 'curses'. On the way back to Guardia, they rescued a Growlithe from a yeti under the Sulfataska Mountains. Caleb tamed the Growlithe and named him Xenayo, taking lessons from Jameson and combining his own methods to train it. They started by visiting Kalin's cave in Rabite Forest, where Caleb pointed out that the skeletal remains and blood stains covering the cave were caused by Kalin in Shadeon form, who was the same 'monster' who almost killed Julexa. By reliving the scene with the dimensional scream, Caleb noticed that Darkrai returned to the cave after re-entering the cleft.

Together with Mogwai, Gizmo, and Jameson, Caleb tracked Darkrai to the Palace of Darkness. Once there, one of Shade's servants offered to assist them out of vengeance for Darkrai's 'dishonoring' of their sacred grounds. They traveled through a portal of darkness, emerging outside of Angel Tower. After a brawl with some of the tower's denizens, the group followed Darkrai through another portal..one that led to the bottom of the El Nido Triangle. Caleb and his group narrowly avoided drowning to death, but they had to accept that they were back at square one. The Noctowl Gryph, Shade's servant, made the observation that each area they visited had something in common. The initial thought was the darkness involved, but Gizmo made another observation: all three areas were once sites of an origin wormhole. Caleb witnessed Darkrai leaving 'marks' in Angel Tower and the Palace of Darkness, as if leaving a trail for Dialga. Another theory rose from Mogwai when Gryph asked how Darkrai planned to get into the Mana Holyland in the first place: by pretending to be Kalin. Gryph believed that one place most visible to the Mana Tribe was the Sea of Wonders, so the group set out to ambush Darkrai there.

Gizmo called in a favor to get their group transported to Caspia, where they passed through the Kakkara Desert to a place steeped in darkness, where Darkrai would no doubt emerge from. Night fell as they reached the Pillars of Nosgoth, where the fated battle commenced. Gryph connected the dots and revealed Darkrai's plan: He would use Dialga's power to travel back in time when the cleft's gods arrived through their wormholes, receiving tremendous power. He would then harness that power for himself and fill the cleft with darkness. And to avoid a tiresome fight, Darkrai formed a dark void to send Caleb and his friends into slumber. But one member of the group remained awake: the Noctowl Gryph. Only one being has ever had the strength to resist Darkrai's call into slumber: Cresselia. Shedding her disguise, Cresselia dispelled the darkness and safeguarded Caleb's group while they fought against Darkrai and a pair of vampires from the Turelim Clan.

During the fight, Darkrai left Caleb mortally wounded. But after hearing Jameson's and Cresselia's voices, Caleb entered deep trance as he became one with the dimensional scream. In the blink of an eye, Caleb knew the future, and how to write it. No matter how many times Darkrai phased in close to him to strike, Caleb stopped each attempt with his hatchet. Wounded and pushed into a corner, Darkrai 'discarded' Kalin and fled into the darkness. Gizmo and Mogwai retrieved the Eevee from a pile of rubble as Caleb fell lifelessly to the ground. Cresselia explained that Caleb was her 'champion', that she bestowed the dimensional scream on him when he was born. She believed that someday he would do what she isn't capable of doing: destroying Darkrai once and for all. But that fate for Caleb turned out to be just a dream..and so Cresselia chose a new champion: Gizmo. She knew that Gizmo was 'cursed' by time and that she would someday face Dialga. With the dimensional scream, she would no longer be forced to live out the future that she knows will happen..but will instead of the power to write a new future.

With Kalin rescued, the group returned to Caspia. Jameson left first, telling Mogwai to get herself taken care of before returning to help him with his situation involving his mana blessings. Spending some time together watching the sun rise over the Sea of Wonders, Mogwai and Kalin decided to see the world together, without any life threatening situations or getting involved in potental world dominations. In the mean time, Cresselia and Gizmo determined that Xenayo became mute after the trauma he went through when Caleb rescued him. She also explained the divine nature of the dimensional scream, that it was one of many things that she and 'others' stole from 'God'. Before splitting up and going their own ways, everyone sent Caleb's body off into the Sea of Wonders so that he could rest in peace. After that, Cresselia bestowed Kalin's Luneon form with 'Lunar Vision', and left to begin searching for Darkrai. Gizmo agreed to leave the lovebirds to themselves and took Xenayo with her to live with Julexa, though something has kept them from their destination.

Cleft Adventures
Kalin now travels all over the cleft at Mogwai's side, expanding his wisdom, learning the world, and simply enjoying time with the one he loves. One might certainly find the odd pair in Truce or Viorar from time to time, enjoying their lives free from dark manipulators and temporal gods.

Abilities
Eevee Basics: Tripping, clawing, biting, whipping up sand, and slapping with a tail, Kalin is capable of most basic actions the rest of his kind can do.

Eevee Mastery:  The peak of a life lived as a well trained Eevee. Trump Card puts Kalin into a state of playing a mental poker game, the better the hand, the stronger the attack. Shadow Ball is a means to fight at long range. And when down to the last of his strength, Last Resort can send him into a brief enraged state before leaving him unconcious. These powers became available after the arc '100 Pieces of the Past'.

Eevee Deception: Fighting alongside Darkrai showed Kalin the power of tricking one's enemy in a fight. Double Team can create illusory copies to deceive foes. By shedding a little energy at the right place at the right time, Substitute can create a perfect decoy. Finally accepting his cute looks, Kalin turns them into a weapon along with his strange tendency to attract females using his Charm, causing those attracted to hesitate and pull back on their blows. These powers became available after the arc 'Temporal Destiny'.

Eevee Pride: Having lost his mana powers for a time, Kalin was forced to return to the basics, utilizing the gifts that Caleb and Celebi taught him long ago. By channeling his Hidden Power, Kalin can induce an electric shock through his target's insides. The force responsible is unknown, but Kalin discovered that if he makes a Wish from the bottom of his heart, it may come true and restore his strength. Heal Bell could be used upon himself and others to eliminate unusual ailments. These powers became available after the arc 'Temporal Destiny'.

Mana Forms: As Kalin met the mana spirits, the blessings they bestowed on him gave him the power to temporarily evolve into a form resembling each spirit. While able to use powers of their element, each form also brings with it a spike in a particular emotion or trait. His Eevee skills also become unusable while transformed. Each form is ranked by its power (PWR), speed (SPD), and risk (RSK) of losing control/deforming early. A form requires about 24 hours to recharge and if the day lines up with the mana form, it will charge at twice the rate. Kalin has been unable to determine just how long a form can really last, since every form is different and their duration is dependent on the powers used while transformed. These powers became available after the arc 'The Mana Spirits'.

Lumineon: (PWR: [*--] SPD: [*--] RSK: [---]) - Light elemental, this form brings enhanced capability to focus. While in Lumineon form, Eevee's mental prowess exceeds any other form. This form focuses on distant offense and support. Offensively, it is able to fire light based beams. Supportively, it can focus its energy on offering extreme protection to an individual, but it leaves itself highly vulnerable while doing this.

Salamandeon: (PWR: [**-] SPD: [**-] RSK: [**-]) - Fire elemental, this form brings unequaled rage. Sometimes the anger is so powerful that he simply overheats and cancels out of the form. This form is purely offensive also somewhat speedy, as its signiture attack involves leaving behind an intense trail of flames. It is also capable of breathing fire.

Undineon: (PWR: [**-] SPD: [*--] RSK: [*--]) - Water/Ice elemental, this form brings kindness. At times it even causes Eevee to not want to fight. Being an aquatic creature, it can swim at exceptional speed and finesse but is rather clumsy on ground. It can also disperse into a puddle of water and move short distances on land. This form focuses on offense and healing. Offensively, it fire water blasts or icey aurora beams from its mouth. Supportively, it can summon kindness rain to help its allies regenerate and feel better.

Gnomeon: (PWR: [***] SPD: [---] RSK: [**-]) - Earth elemental, this form brings intense pride. This pride often puts him in troubling situations because he overestimates himself. Very hardy, Eevee often takes little to no damage but his finesse takes a major dive for it. This form focuses primarily on defense. It can manipulate the ground to form barriers around allies. If he can get a running start, a rocky tackle is always an option.

Sylphideon: (PWR: [*--] SPD: [***] RSK: [---]) - Wind elemental, this form brings energy to Eevee's already spontaneous personality. Along with enhanced speed, he is simply all over the place while in this form. This form focuses primarily on offense, capable of forming a tornado and firing off windy gusts towards the opposition. A tackle with this much speed can pack quite a punch!

Dryadeon: (PWR: [---] SPD: [---] RSK: [***]) - Wood elemental, this form brings drowsiness and often causes Eevee to simply quit fighting and fall asleep. Because he's so tired in this form, he has barely any kind of combat prowess. Instead, this form focuses primarily on debilitation, capable of exerting a variety of spores that can affect living beings. Spores such as hallucinagens, hypnotic bacteria, and muscle laxitives. No, not the kind that make one's bowel move easier, the kind that makes their arms and legs go weak.

Luneon: (PWR: [---] SPD: [---] RSK: [**-]) -  Moon elemental, this form brings greater affection for others. At times, it causes Eevee to worry so much about his allies that he will put himself in harm's way in situations that don't really call for it. This form focuses on synergy, capable of empowering allies through the use of 'Lunatic Moon' such as landing stronger blows, enhanced speed, and stronger resilience. But rather than simply 'throwing buffs' on others, Eevee's actions actively enhance others directly. It also has tiny wings that allow him to float, but aren't powerful enough to take flight. Lastly, the crescent moon on his head is rather sharp, a trait one would notice if they got too close to the majestic creature. After meeting Cresselia, Luneon was blessed with 'Lunar Vision', the capability to transmit his thoughts into the minds of other living beings, so long as the moon is out and his target's eyes can be seen.

Shadeon: (PWR: [**-] SPD: [***] RSK: [***]) - Dark elemental, this form brings malice in Eevee's heart. Subtle dislikes are taken out of context and channeled into extreme hatred. This form focuses on speed and close quarters combat, capable of shadow fueled claws and fangs. It is highly evasive and can seemingly phase in and out of position. Its wings allow it moderate flight capabilities.

Traits
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral - Having been raised in the wild, Kalin largely believes in 'survival of the fittest'. That aside, he's spent most of his life fighting for freedom from Dialga's tyrranical reign. If he feels that a party in a conflict is being oppressed, he will likely side with the one fighting against it. He holds some moral values that he learned from Caleb, such as respect for higher entities and all sentient forms of life, avoiding senseless violence, and showing kindness to the needy.

Terrain Preference: Kalin lived among forests frozen in time before meeting Caleb. He most in his element when amidst a sea of bushes and trees. He is also comfortable in caves and underground due to the nature of the village he lived in with Caleb. He dislikes deserts and snow because he doesn't cope to the extreme temperatures well, even with his adaptability. He also hates urban areas and plains because it makes him feel exposed. A guy's just gotta have a bush or something readily available to hide in, you know?

Eevee Adaptation: A natural trait to most Eevees, Kalin finds adaptability to be almost as simple as breathing. This doesn't make him a quick learner, merely quick to adapt to changes around him. Such adaptations are lost when new environments are introduced to him. A loony professor once theorized that an Eevee's irregular genetic code may even attempt to adapt to new stimuli.

Eevee Instinct: Having spent time in the wild before living in civilization, Kalin possesses natural instinct common to most beasts. This capability has weakened some since regaining his memories. The more in-tune a beast is with civilization, the harder it becomes for them to listen to the primal voice inside. Current status: Primal [|||||||||||||||03E||] Civil

Talents: It's unknown whether or not it's talent or his adaptation at work or perhaps some combination of the two, but Kalin has shown capable musical skills for those who can understand him.

Racial Ethics: Kalin generally considers all beasts to be equal, unless one has established superiority over the other. He's also more comfortable around other beasts and pokemon than he is around humanoids and constructs. His tolerance of them has strengthened due to the time he lived in Caleb's village and having been saved by Jameson, but he will always have a cautious reaction when meeting new humanoids and synthetic creations.

Associations: Kalin's not aligned with any particular faction, but he has met many people while adventuring with Mogwai. His first friends were Finn and Riko. He considers the Pichu Julexa his little sister and usually just tolerates Mogwai's friends rather than calling them friends of his own. He trusts Gizmo sometimes, but it upsets him when she bugs Mogwai. With Caleb dead and Finn and Riko missing, the only thing combating the Eevee's loneliness is the exotic moogle dancer.

Oboyo Jinsaka
Origins
Oboyo grew up in the Jinsaka Manor in Shrike, though he also lived in a mansion owned by the family in Gold City. While very young, he was approached by a concerned attendant one day who suggested that he learn to defend himself. Nobles all too often rely on others, and being the son of one of his father's 'youthful experiments', he would someday be replaced by a true heir. He took up several styles of martial arts, such as taekwondo and several disciplines of stick fighting. After his little half brother was born, various subtle attempts were made on his life throughout the years. the blame could never be directly connected to his father, but he knew the old man's intentions.

After undergoing a currently unrevealed event, Oboyo's father found an honorable reason to disown his elder son and banished him from the Gold City mansion and the rest of the Jinsaka family. To keep the exile honorable, Oboyo's father gave the manor in Shrike to him but he fired all of the staff and left Oboyo with nothing but his own things. This didn't stop some staff members however, as the ones who raised and cared for Oboyo left his father's service and joined him in the empty manor in Shrike.

Memories of the Disowned
Exiled from his family for reasons currently unexplained, Oboyo took up residence in an old manor his family once lived in at Shrike. The manor was abandoned when the Jinsaka family developed intense prejudice against technology, choosing to live instead in Gold City. Without much money to his name, Oboyo would have had to sell the manor if not for some of the attendants who followed him: The butler Maison, the expert merchant Mr. Adonis Moit, the elderly moogle maid Ms. Kuporia, and the 'helpful' Servbot #1337. Together, they renovated parts of the manor and rented rooms out to travelers and merchants. Oboyo may also have had deals with unsavory felonous types.

The first initial boost to Oboyo's income came from finding a unique crystal hidden in the family crypt under the manor. A strange man offered a lot of money to buy the crystal, which he called a 'soul gem'. But before finalizing the deal, the man released the spirit trapped inside the soul gem, causing it to possess the butler Maison and leaving the man behind to die. Oboyo then enlisted the aid of a secretive order of exorcists while Moit utilized his network of contacts to find Maison.

Finally tracking Maison to Truce, Oboyo sent a plan to the exorcist leader, Rhakashka. But Oboyo's plan to paralyze himself and allow himself to be possessed went sour, as Dusk showed up suddenly to become Florence's new host. The tragedy resulted in the death of the exorcist leader, Rhakashka. Oboyo invited his pupils, Lym Hughes and Lionel Slack, to stay with him and help him save the knight and avenge their master.

These adventures can be followed in the world notes "Memories of the Disowned".

The Tides of Justice
Some time after his failure, Oboyo was visited in the night by a mysterious seer named Leknaat, who claimed to be living in another world. She warned him that a malevolent spirit and its phantoms would someday invade the cleft, and that only 108 Stars of Destiny using the power of the Spirit Rune would be able to stop it. Using her Gate Rune, she sent her pupil Lucass to help and guide Oboyo in acquiring the Spirit Rune and preparing for the inevitable invasion.

Since then, Oboyo recruited Dr. Egon Spengler and attempted to exorcize Florence, failing multiple times due to unforeseen surprises. In the final confrontation, Oboyo and his entourage defeated Florence and acquired the Spirit Rune. But the price would be steep, as their actions doomed an innocent man to die.

These adventures can be followed in the world notes "The Tides of Justice".

Guided by the Stars: The Tenkai Star
With the Spirit Rune in hand, Oboyo knew that Leknaat's prediction would come true. He resolved to gather support from people all over the cleft in preparation for the day of the ghost ship's invasion. And so began the story of the Stars of Destiny!

Abilities
Spirit Rune: One of the 27 'True Runes' from another world, the Spirit Rune is described as having the power to "govern life after death." In the cleft, its magic causes ghosts to become tangible. More powers may be still be hidden deep inside...

Intermediate Martial Arts: By no means an expert, Oboyo has taken plenty of lessons in Tae Kwon Do. On the other hand, his skills in staff fighting are exceptional. He carries a custom three-piece staff that snaps together in his trenchcoat.

Intermediate Marksmanship: He's no sniper, but Oboyo is fairly accurate with the handgun he keeps in his trenchcoat at all times due to some training growing up.

Traits
Alignment: Neutral Good - Oboyo's a regular guy, he doesn't approve of senseless violence or murder. If someone is being wronged, he will seek to right it. On the other hand, he won't get involved with someone who merely looks like they're up to no good. The law can handle that. People should respect one another and keep civil. After all, where would we be without mutual respect?

Racial Ethics: Being cleft born, Oboyo has no preferences or hatreds against any race.

Associations: After establishing a healthy flow of income, the Jinsaka Manor is accepted as a respectable business establishment among the other companies that run Shrike. Oboyo's primary associations come from the Stars of Destiny arc.

Sir Dusk of Elham

Pre-Cleft

Dusk grew up in a life of solitude in his home dimension, Ivalice. From his early years to his coming of age he spent all of his time studying texts for the Glabados Church and training with the paladin Sir Dupre Roifenburg. Being an orphan, Dusk had no family outside of the church. The closest thing he had to a father was Father Malkom, the head priest of the tiny village of Elham. Behind the scenes, Father Malkom worked as part the church's 'heretic slayers'. It is for this reason that he gathered a small group of orphans to be trained in both the ways of a priest and of a knight. The orphans would be expected to bring peace to lingering spirits, and so they were injected with a substance known as 'ectoshade', which is a kind of poison toxic towards ghosts. For the latter part of his life, Dusk spent his time seeking out heretics and slaying them if they did not atone for their sins. He had also just started learning the Holy Sword techniques under Sir Dupre's guidance.

This life came to an end as soon as Dusk fell into the cleft. Within his first day, he was bumped into by Oboyo Jinsaka while looking around in Truce. He followed Oboyo out near Rabite Forest where he witnessed the man shooting an elderly gentleman. Before he could bring Oboyo to justice, Dusk was possessed by an old and evil spirit that Oboyo named 'Florence'. Supposedly, Florence can only possess a pure soul, or at least one as pure as spiritually possible. However, the ectoshade in Dusk's body began to eat away at Florence's spirit. To circumvent that, Florence's spirit fused with Dusk's, creating a strange new individual. The end result is the Dusk seen during Imbibobot's chapter in life: a bipolar psychopath who bounces between naivety and nonsensical ramblings.

Florence has been in the cleft for a long time, but the details of its past were unknown until recently. However, it makes its intentions clear: become the ultimate entity in existence. It is for this reason that it takes possession of pure souls to find the ultimate power and seize it. Another mysterious fact is that alcohol has an effect in determining control of Dusk's body.

Chaos and Drink

On his way to the Etansel Library one day in the year 350, Dusk (controlled by Florence) found himself involved with a scene in Truce. A strange robot caught his attention when it mentioned its god. This started a long journey with Imbibobot's flock in a search for god. In the end, Florence learned a lot about the hidden mysteries of the cleft. In particular, it gave Florence insight on the most powerful beings in the cleft. This gave Florence a new plan: find the seams holding the cleft together and use them against the ultimate inventor: Carsanquay.

These adventures can be followed in the RP Logs "Tales of Imbibobot" and the world notes "Notepad from a creepy Scholar".

Wishborn

Tailing Lenai in Truce one day hoping to find a lead on Kolem's location, Dusk (controlled by Florence) saw a group of adventurers speaking to a strange cat. This creature, calling itself Kyuubei, offered a wish to anyone foolish enough to give in to the temptation. Florence observed the creature creating soul gems to those who made a wish. Having transferred souls in the past, Florence felt this would be its chance to seal away Dusk's soul into a gem and take full control of Dusk's body. Florence first tried to wish for a vessel that would lead him to the cleft's seams, but Kyuubei refused the wish under grounds that it would interfere with the immortals' interests. In the end, it simply wished for the soul gem itself. Now that Florence has full control of Dusk's body, it continues its search for a way to find the cleft's seams while upholding its part of Kyuubei's deal.

After its first battle fighting alongside the other Wishborn, Florence witnessed Kyrk destroying Lenai's soul gem as a response to her sloth. For reasons unknown, Florence separated from the other Wishborn to find a way to restore Lenai's soul and sever the link tying Dusk's soul to his body. Even though Dusk's soul is sealed away, should something happen to the gem, his body will suffer for it as well. For obvious reasons, Florence wishes to keep the gem safe so it can continue to use Dusk's body.

Florence then met with a talking grimoire in Viorar and discussed the research of a man named 'Seamus' regarding soul creation. Afterwards, he was ambushed by Oboyo and his knights, an order sworn to exorcise malevolent spirits. Thanks to Dusk's soul gem powers, it was able to defeat Oboyo and escape. It is presumed that Florence is lying low to avoid Oboyo's order of knights while seeking the man named Seamus.

Florence later sought Gaeus for his thoughts regarding the wish granting creature, but that lead no where. It was then approached by a mysterious man calling himself 'Oxcarts', who invited it to join his peculiar organization. Seeing no reason to refuse, Florence agreed to work them and was rewarded the power to control minor shadow creatures known as the 'Heartless'. Florence currently uses the organization's resources to research a method to sever the link to the soul gem while hunting wielders of weapons known as 'keyblades' in return.

Having stumbled on a possible solution to the 'thread' that ties both gem to body, Florence sets out for the soul gems carried by other Wishborn to use as experiments in a transmutation consisting of unique designs from an assortment of dimensions. Its first target was Rarity, who eventually decided to actually 'surrender' and go along with it for now. After defeating a witch in a 'realm of darkness', Florence was forcefully embedded with the 'Rune of Punishment', one of the 27 'true runes' from another dimension. This threw off its plan and it sent Rarity home as it now researches for more information. For now, it doesn't dare use the rune's power.

After several encounters with Oboyo Jinsaka and his entourage, Florence was separated from Dusk's body and the truth of its past was revealed to it: It was the personification of the 'Spirit Rune'*, another one of the 27 True Runes from the same world as the Rune of Punishment. With some help, Oboyo eliminated Florence and took the Spirit Rune into his left hand. However, the process set Dusk's life on a timer. While he was restored to his original state, he only had 'half of a soul' left due to merging with Florence. In his final hours, he killed the corrupted Rarity and brought her peace before joining her himself.

These adventures can be followed in the RP Logs "Price of Sloth", "Web of Misery", "No More Secrets", "Premeditation", "Two Threats", "Darkness Rising", "Experiments and Associates", "A Knight's Duty", and "A Truly Generous Sending". There is also the world note, "What is a name?"
